NOMINATION FOR “TRADITIONAL GOSPEL ALBUM” OF THE YEAR

The Gospel Music Association has announced nominations for the 40th annual Dove Award ceremonies, bestowing Gospel music legend Dottie Peoples with a nomination in the “Traditional Gospel Album” category for her latest project, Do It!
Do It! is the first release from Peoples’ newly launched record label, DP Muzik Group, and heralds some of the most significant and exciting accomplishments in her musical career. The album is a twelve-song masterpiece produced by Peoples herself and is a stunning collection of some of her best work ever.
The title cut and first single, “Do It!,” debuted at #26 within the first month on Gospel charts, and climbed as high as #22 (R&R Gospel chart). In March, Peoples will release a new Gospel single “Better” and a new CCM single “There You Are,” both from the nominated album. Plans are for her to appear on TBN and Daystar TV to perform her new singles live.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by the Gospel Music Association for Do It! because it is an album that represents an important stage in my career and is very dear to me,” says Peoples.
According the award show’s website; since the ceremony’s start in 1969, the GMA Dove Awards has been known as the "Biggest Night In Gospel Music" and is the longest running and most prestigious televised awards ceremony recognizing achievement in all genres of Christian and Gospel music.
Known as the “Songbird of The South,” Peoples is a highly recognized, award- winning artist with a past Dove Award win, multiple Stellar Award wins and Grammy Award nominations.
