 The New Orleans based Versatile Entertainment will host Dr Bobby Jones and The Word Network in a series of television tapings to be held this week-end in “The Big Easy.” Organized by Bishop Ryan D. Warner, a familiar face in gospel circles, the event is designed to bring inspiration to a city and its residents who still struggle for a sense of normalcy in the post-hurricane days upon them.
“Since Katrina and Rita, we fully understand the situation facing the survivors as they attempt to re-build their lives and decided that this is a positive vehicle to offer encouragement as we all move forward in our recuperation” states President & CEO Bishop Warner. “With a yearning in our heart and a desire to repair, heal, and nuture the hearts and soul of our brothers and sisters in the Gulf Coast region, Versatile Entertainment, Inc felt a strong need to take action” he continued.
The tapings are open to the public and will be held at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans. The event will feature some of the newest talents in today’s gospel music, as well as a tenured artists such as Z’eil, Melvin Williams, Terri McConnell, Brent Jones & The T.P. Mobb, Minister Darrel Pettis, Tracy Worth, VaShawn Mitchell, B. Chase Williams, and Billy Rivers & The Angelic Voices of Faith, to name a few. Sharing in hosting duties is Al "The Bishop" Hobbs and Merdean Gales along with a few celebrity hosts such as Byron Cage and Ty Tribett.
“New Orleans has always been one of my favorite cities” Dr. Jones shares. “We are extremely excited about this event and have a wonderful line-up planned. I’m sure you will enjoy all of the outstanding performances and do not want to miss a minute of the New Orleans tapings for The Word Network.”
Featuring a new artist showcase that surpasses all, platforms such as this have been directly related to the rise of new artists in this ever-growing genre of music and the Bobby Jones Gospel / Word Network collaboration has ignited the careers of many of today’s premier artists.
Versatile Entertainment has arranged for transportation to the tapings, targeting seniors, youth, and the disenfranchised of the city in hopes of being a beacon light that leads to a brighter day for the fine city of New Orleans. This is the first of the annual event. All tapings are free to the public.

About Dr. Jones
Dr. Bobby Jones is the host and executive producer of cable television's first and only national gospel program, Bobby Jones Gospel, which is seen weekly by more than five million viewers on the Black Entertainment Television network. Bobby Jones Gospel is the only BET show to air continuously for the past 26 years. An educator by profession Dr. Jones received his Bachelor‘s Degree from Tennessee State University at age 19. He received his Master's Degree from Tennessee State University and his Doctorate of education from Vanderbilt University. In 2006, Dr. Jones was officially appointed Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
